How can we address the needs of key populations affected by HIV?

Key populations, such as men who have sex with men, sex workers, and people who inject drugs, are disproportionately affected by HIV. To address their needs, we must:

  • Reduce stigma and discrimination: Promote understanding and acceptance of key populations.
  • Provide tailored prevention services: Develop and implement prevention programs that are culturally relevant and accessible to key populations.
  • Expand access to testing and treatment: Ensure that key populations have access to high-quality HIV testing and treatment services.
  • Address social and economic barriers: Support policies that address poverty, homelessness, and substance abuse, which can increase vulnerability to HIV.
